Boris Johnson latest: Jeremy Corbyn slammed after Queens Speech in UK Parliament video | UK | News

Mr Johnson was addressing MPs in the Commons after the Queen’s speech on Monday and the official re-opening of Parliament in a ceremony of pageantry and pomp. The speech was used to set out the Government’s legislative agenda amid a vital week for Brexit. MPs will this week debate the substance of the speech ahead of a monumental EU summit on Thursday and Friday before they sit for the first time on Saturday since the Falklands War to debate the UK’s exit from the bloc.

Mr Johnson used his first statement to the House after the Queen’s speech to mock his opposite number across the dispatch box.

The Conservative MP mocked Labour over their inability agree on Brexit policy and claimed the party’s “policy on cake is neither having it nor eating it”.

Addressing the leader of the Opposition, the Prime Minister added: “I fear for his political health because we can all see the Soviet-era expulsions going on as one-by-one his lieutenants are purged.

“As Lenin purged the associates of poor, old Trotsky.

Raising a finger to Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell, Mr Johnson raged: “And there is Lenin, Mr Speaker. The veteran fabricator of GLC budgets.”
