Tottenham news: Pochettino ‘might have lost dressing room’ ahead of Champions League tie | Football | Sport

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has been warned that he may have lost the dressing room before Spurs’ last match against Southampton.

The players appeared to have lost faith in their boss during their Premier League tie against Southampton, claimed Charlie Nicholas.

But, after Spurs fought back to win 2-1 with 10 men, it’s given Tottenham a chance to capitalise on the good feeling in the camp and push forward, he added.

Spurs take on Bayern Munich in the Champions League on Tuesday, at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, and the former Arsenal star thinks it’ll be a tricky tie for Pochettino’s side.

“I did the Tottenham game at the weekend ,and again they were unconvincing,” Nicholas wrote on Sky Sports.

Hugo Lloris’ gaffe gave Southampton a route back into the game but his superhero antics got him out of a hole.

“Harry Kane was clinical again and does what he does but Christian Eriksen looked so out of sorts.

“Mauricio Pochettino seemed as if he might have lost the dressing room, but the Saints game was a springboard victory for Tottenham with 10 men.

“Bayern Munich are not as good as they once were and you can get at them – they rely heavily on Robert Lewandowksi.

“Philippe Coutinho got his first goal at the weekend and ex-Arsenal man Serge Gnabry is performing well but I’m going for a draw. This will be a result that Tottenham will be happy with.”

Tottenham will be aiming for three points against Bayern, given that they failed to beat Olympiakos two weeks ago.

They went 2-0 up in Greece through Harry Kane and Lucas Moura, but were pegged back shortly before half time through Daniel Podence.

Former France international Mathieu Valbuena scored the equaliser midway through the second half.

Bayern, meanwhile, won 3-0 against Red Star Belgrade at home, and registered 34 shots in total over the 90 minutes.

A win for Niko Kovac’s side in London would likely mean that they’ll qualify for the knockout phases of the Champions League for the 12th year in a row.
