Massimiliano Allegri told to wait for Man Utd job amid Bayern Munich and Arsenal links | Football | Sport

Former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri should snub Bayern Munich and wait for the job at Manchester United to become available.

That is according to legendary manager Fabio Capello, who even though he is certain that Allegri would be successful in the Bundesliga, he should prioritise a move to a more exciting league instead.

Bayern and Niko Kovac mutually agreed to part ways following their 5-1 hammering at the hands of Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday and are reportedly keeping tabs on Allegri among many other talented managers.

However, Capello is adamant that the former AC Milan boss should wait for an offer from England as he has been linked with United and Arsenal.

And the former England boss claims that he would join the Red Devils if he was in Allegri’s shoes.

Capello told Radio Anch’io Sport: “He’d be a good fit at Bayern Munich, although I don’t know how welcome Italians are in Germany after [Carlo] Ancelotti.

“England’s exciting, there’s the possibility of doing well and the Premier League is a championship that enriches you.

“If I was Allegri, I’d go to Manchester.”

According to Goal, Bayern have drawn up a shortlist of potential candidates to replace Kovac.

Among them are Allegri, Erik ten Hag, Ralf Rangnick as well as Premier League legends Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger.

Ten Hag led Ajax to the Champions League semi-finals, along with a domestic double, last season.

Rangnick took RB Leipzig to third place in the Bundesliga and is now employed by Red Bull where he works as head of sport and development.

Mourinho and Wenger are both out of work after leaving Manchester United and Arsenal respectively.

Allegri left Juventus at the end of last season and has decided to take some time off before coming back to football.
