Liverpool, Leicester stars forced to separate Adam Lallana, Ayoze Perez as win sparks fury | Football | Sport

Adam Lallana and Ayoze Perez had to be separated as angry scenes marred the end of Liverpool’s 2-1 win over Leicester at Anfield.

As Jurgen Klopp and Brendan Rodgers shook hands on the touchline, there was an altogether different mood on the field.

Leicester star Perez appeared incensed, just moments after James Milner had given Liverpool a late lead from the penalty spot.

The Spanish forward was embroiled in an on-pitch spat with Milner, as well as Lallana and Liverpool defender Andy Robertson.

Leicester’s Hamza Choudhury came rushing in to split up the warring players, as Ricardo Pereira stepped in to take Perez away.

Wilfried Ndidi and Virgil van Dijk got in on the action too as players from both sides ran over after the full-time whistle.

Leicester midfielder Youri Tielemans walked Perez away as Jamie Vardy acted as peacemaker, taking former England team-mate Lallana to one side.

After the initial clash diffused, Perez was filmed engaging in a heated exchange with Robertson as the players approached the tunnel.

Van Dijk, meanwhile, had his arm around Perez as he looked to calm down the furious Leicester striker.

Perez’s anger came after Leicester’s hopes of ending Liverpool’s Premier League winning run were ended by a late penalty decision.

Marc Albrighton was adjudged to have clipped Sadio Mane in the box, handing Milner the chance to score – which he took with aplomb.

The match had looked to be heading for a draw after James Maddison’s second-half strike had cancelled out Mane’s 40th-minute goal.
