Lee Sharpe picks two Man Utd players who would get in Liverpool starting XI | Football | Sport

Manchester United stars Paul Pogba and Harry Maguire are the only two players who would get into Liverpool’s team, according to Lee Sharpe.

Liverpool are top of the Premier League, having won their opening seven games this season.

Manchester City lag the closest behind them by five points while United are sitting in 10th place, 12 points behind the league leaders.

United have failed to beat Liverpool since the 2017/18 season.

The Reds ended last term with European Cup glory after beating Tottenham 2-0 in the Champions League final.

United, though, have failed to improve on their fortunes ever since Sir Alex Ferguson left in 2013.

And Sharpe feels that there are just two players who would get into Liverpool’s current side – Maguire and Pogba.

“I think that Pogba probably would. Maguire may play alongside Van Dijk,” he told MetaRatings.

“The goalkeepers are a pretty even match.

“Would [Marcus] Rashford get in ahead of [Roberto] Firmino? I’m not sure.

“Liverpool and Man City are two unbelievable teams at the moment and they have set the standards, and would be difficult to replace anyone in their teams.

“With [Alex] Oxlade Chamberlain and [Adam] Lallana coming back, they look even stronger with another two creative midfield players.”

Liverpool and United face each other in the league on October 20 at Old Trafford.

United will have to be at their best in order to stop Liverpool’s fearsome front three of Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
