Strictly Come Dancing: Saffron and AJ ‘tangle of limbs’ – pro makes partner look ‘weaker’

Last night Youtube star Saffron Barker, 19, performed a salsa with AJ in week seven of the 2019 series. They danced to “Instruction” by Jax Jones featuring Demi Lovato and Stefflon Don.

“Saffron has the advantage of youth and optimism in this series but given a routine where she was less welded to AJ than usual the so far solid double act appeared to disintegrate.

“Craig said her dance lacked fluidity and part of the problem appeared to be that AJ himself was just too good.

“His dance was totally brilliant and it upstaged Saffron’s, making her look weaker by contrast.”

The expert added: “Does part of the trust that builds between the pro dancers and their celebrity partners entail knowing when to be less good to make your celebrity dancer look better?

Another wrote, “You were great, loved your dance,” while another said, “@SaffronBarker was undermarked and deserves better!”
