How did Sarah Ferguson & Prince Andrew meet? Princess Diana played this special role

On the 23 July 1986, Sarah Ferguson and Prince Andrew said “I do” at Westminster Abbey in London. Their wedding followed a year of courtship. Prince Andrew designed the engagement ring himself. It consists of ten diamonds surrounding a Burmese ruby, which he chose to complement Sarah’s red hair. The Duchess was seen wearing this same ring years after the couple’s divorce in 1996. Despite their separation, the duo have remained close and are regularly spotted at events together, leading many to believe they’ll remarry. Body language expert Judi Jame recently analysed heir public outings and she told Express.co.uk that they gave off the impression of an “existing couple.”

But how did they meet?

Prince Andrew had known Sarah – who is fondly known as Fergie – since childhood.

They had met occasionally at polo matches, however, it wasn’t until Princess Diana invited Sarah along to Ascot with her in 1985 that their relationship blossomed.

That year, Diana – who was married to Prince Charles at the time – asked Fergie to come along to the annual horse racing event with the intention of introducing her to her brother-in-law Prince Andrew.

Diana then invited the new but unofficial couple to visit her and Charles in Highgrove.

The romance bloomed quickly, and the couple were married within the year, announcing their engagement.

Marriage is thought to be on the cards for Sarah and Andrew’s eldest daughter Princess Beatrice, 31.

The royal has reportedly been in a relationship with her boyfriend Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi since last year, and sources believe they’ll be walking down the aisle soon.

However, a look to the stars revealed there could be disagreements ahead for the lovebirds.

Beatrice was born on 8 August 1988, which makes her a Leo.

The website sunsign.org reads: “This month you [Leo] will experience a still love life.

“There will be numerous disagreements between you and your spouse or partner until towards the end of the month. Leo pregnancy will not be achievable at the same time.”

According to the site, things are likely to look up between Edoardo and Beatrice by the 23rd, which is said to be the time when Leo’s could fall into love relationships in September.

While Beatrice’s love life might not be in full swing this month, her family life with her mum Sarah Ferguson, dad Prince Andrew and sister Princess Eugenie is believed to be at the forefront of her mind.
